My first "Character Integrated into an environment" concept is that of Samson the mystical Samninji (yeah it's Samurai and Ninja at the SAME TIME!) He would be in the process of using one of his magical scrolls to summon a shadow fighter (he doesn't always cut down his prey with his dark sword). His environment would be a creepy Eastern Jungle with a wicked looking Dojo in the background. My initial set up design is referenced from splash art for Zed, a character from League of Legends made by Riot Games.
The second idea is a gothic Hemo-sorceress that uses her own blood to over power other gifted individuals. She would be in a neo-gothic city with blood flowing out and hovering around her hands. The frenzied look on her face would suggest that she just did something dreadful before she walked out of the Institute of Power temple building behind her.
